In an interview with Rio Ferdinand, he revealed that the work he did during pre-season helped him to win both the golden boot and top assister in the premier league.

The Egyptian was the league's top scorer with 23 goals and was also the top assist man with 13 assists, one ahead of his teammate Trent Alexander-Arnold.

The seven players who have achieved the feat are: Harry Kane, Andy Cole, Jimmy Floyd Hoffa, Robin Van Persie, Didier Drogba, and now Salah.

Only seven players have won both the top scorer and assister in the same season in the same league.

In an interview with Rio Ferdinand, he said that he won both awards during the pre-season.

The 29-year-old was working crazy in the summer. I said I was going to win the golden boot and assist next season, and I was working so hard for both.

At the start of the season, the work was evident as the forward started off in incredible form, which helped him win the awards. The Egyptian's season slowed down during the second half of the campaign, and his analysis of how he achieved his goal could be correct.
